SCHEDULE: 33.75 hours per week, DAY; MONDAY to FRIDAY - 08:30 to 16:30

The challenges that await you

Under the authority of the immediate supervisor, you act as a legal advisor for all matters related to the operations of the Laval Police Service. In this capacity, you conduct legal research, draft documents of all kinds, provide training, and may sometimes be called upon to make representations before all common law and administrative courts. You will also be required to render legal opinions impacting the policing practices of the Laval Police Service or other municipal services.

The ideal profile for us
  • Education acquired through a Bachelor’s degree in law (BAC);
  • Possess ten (10) years of relevant experience;
  • Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar.
  • Experience representing before the courts;
  • Have good adaptability and be versatile;
  • Possess excellent legal acumen;
  • Be skilled in expressing and writing clearly, concisely, and precisely;
  • Be dynamic and able to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of laws applicable to the police field (Police Act, Criminal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, etc.) desirable;
  • Experience working in a police and operational environment, desirable.
