The Senior Underwriter will support the Assistant Vice President and the Senior Managers in the development and underwriting of new business and facilitate the cross-selling of banking products.

Responsibilities

Perform work based on specific practices and objectives and ensure compliance with current legislation and the Bank’s policies, programs and procedures.
Analyze, structure and underwrite new term loans and interim construction loans.
Analyze risk ratings and account profitability and study various pricing scenarios.
Prepare letters of intent or letters of commitment for client approval, ensuring that they contain all agreed and/or authorized terms and conditions.
Ensure that securities are implemented in compliance with conditions for authorization, current legislation, and the policies and processes of the Bank.
Ensure that authorized terms and conditions are met (credit risk control).
Review disbursement requests and consultant reports.
Ensure that prerequisites for disbursements are met and recommend and track advances.
Assist the Assistant Vice President in training and coaching team members, as needed.
Ensure and maintain a high level of quality and portfolio performance (profitability and quality).
Respect quality standards for the services offered to clients.
Work closely with other team members and stakeholders in the business unit.
Ensure full compliance with the Bank's service guarantee.
Carry out specific analyses (evaluation reports, leases, unit pre-sales, etc.).
Perform all tasks of similar or general nature requested by his or her superior or required for the job.

Qualifications

University education in a relevant field and at least six years of experience
Bilingualism (French and English), written and spoken*
Good interpersonal and organizational skills
Strong analytical skills
Demonstrates entrepreneurship

Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.”
