NV-11You will provide leadership and influence on strategic and complex issues that require extensive knowledge of the field of expertise. You will serve as a content specialist and resource person for clients and unit members.
Oversee the legal aspects of Desjardins Group’s property and casualty insurance subsidiaries, including the legal due diligence process and drafting of transactional documents.
Lead initiatives and activities related to investment, disinvestment and recovery processes, whose scope and impact can extend across Desjardins Group.
Negotiate agreements, if necessary, with companies’ or external organizations’ decision-making bodies.
Advise and assist clients with positioning, planning, development, performance and follow-up of various strategic mandates under your responsibility.
Lead specialized development projects, initiatives and activities whose scope and impact affect the entire organization.
Play a monitoring role in order to understand and anticipate trends in your field of expertise and make appropriate recommendations with a view to developing best practices for the organization.
Develop and update policies, standards, models and programs to support the unit’s projects and mandates.
Frequently represent the unit when meeting with various senior management committee members and decision-making bodies.
When appropriate, supervise the work of professionals in your field of expertise. Make sure practices, procedures, methods and tools are used efficiently in order to meet business plan objectives.
Act as a resource person for unit members and clients.
Develop indicators and performance monitoring methods. Identify issues and make recommendations to the bodies concerned

Bachelor’s degree in law or a related field
A minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial law in a law firm or corporate legal department
Experience property and casualty insurance, negotiating, and drawing up commercial contracts
Experience in corporate law and in IT investment and Fintech (asset)

Be a member of the Quebec Bar
