Paralegal, Medical Field, One Year

Having at heart the well-being and health of people, our client is looking for a paralegal for a period of one year with the possibility of extension, at the Place-des-Arts metro station.

Reporting to the Director of the Legal Affairs and Negotiations, the incumbent assists management by performing administrative functions in addition to being the front-line resource for activities, work and document management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare agendas, identify background documents, attend meetings, draft minutes and follow up for various committees;

• Draft reports for the Board of Directors and other boards, and the annual report;

• Act as a contact person to respond to requests and redirect members and other partners;

• List deposits and index the chronology of negotiations;

• Collect information and perform validation based on criteria set out in letters of understanding, protocols, rules, etc.;

• Perform multi-purpose checks of litigation files to track dates or proceedings filed in the court file;

• Collect contracts, enter and update information to the appropriate software;

• Participate in meetings with partners;

• Identify changes requests from partners;

• Make normative changes to the billing manual.

Requirements

• College diploma in legal technique or equivalent training;

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position;

• Good knowledge of legal research software (SOQUIJ, CanLII, CQLR and GO);

• Fluency in French and good knowledge of English (written and oral);

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.);

• Knowledge of the health network (asset);

• Occasional availability outside regular hours.
