Under the direction of the clerk of the municipal court, the incumbent assists the latter in the planning , the direction, the coordination and the control of the activities of the Clerk of the municipal court (administration section). He ensures the safe and orderly conservation of archives and exhibits in accordance with the provisions of the Law. He oversees the preparation of court rolls and ensures the availability of human and physical resources necessary for the disposition of cases at the hearing. He replaces the clerk in case of absence or inability to act. In addition, he ensures that the discipline and productivity of the employees under his responsibility are maintained and controls the use of budgetary credits and material resources assigned to him. The incumbent acts as justice of the peace for Ville de Laval.
The profile sought:
- Possess a DEC in legal technique;
- Have five (5) years of work experience in criminal, penal and regulatory law, acquired in a municipal court or registry of a courthouse;
- Excellent knowledge of procedures in these areas of law;
- Relevant experience in personnel management;
- Fluency in French and English both orally and in writing.
