SCHEDULE: 33.75 hours per week, DAY; MONDAY to FRIDAY - 08:30 to 16:30

The challenges that await you

The City of Laval is bustling and its territory is under development. The Legal Affairs Department proudly handles all legal matters for the City. Under the authority of the immediate supervisor, as a lawyer, you will represent the City before all common law and administrative courts and act, upon request, as a legal advisor to the City services.

More specifically, you will be called to:

  • Represent the City before all common law and administrative courts primarily in civil liability and public law;
  • Act as a legal advisor to the City services;
  • Manage diverse cases;
  • Draft formal notices and legal proceedings;
  • Negotiate out-of-court settlement agreements;
  • Draft legal documents of all kinds for various services;
  • Conduct legal research and monitor recent developments;
  • Support and enhance the legal knowledge development of the organization.
The ideal profile for us
  • Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar for at least six (6) years;
  • Have relevant experience as a lawyer, particularly in representation before courts and dispute resolution;
  • Open and motivated to work on diverse topics.
