Junior lawyer – Family law

Mergui Avocats Inc. is seeking a dynamic and motivated junior lawyer with 1–2 years of experience in family law to join our team.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and dedicated professional with excellent legal research, drafting, and courtroom advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in family law matters.

• Conduct legal research and analyze applicable legislation and case law.

• Draft court pleadings, affidavits, agreements, and various legal correspondence.

• Prepare files for hearings, settlement conferences, and trials.

• Participate in negotiations and settlement discussions.

• Advise and guide clients throughout legal proceedings.

• Manage case files, deadlines, and procedural requirements.

Requirements

• Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar.

• 1–2 years of experience in family law.

• Excellent command of both French and English, written and spoken.

• Fluency in Turkish would be a significant asset.

• Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills.

• Strong attention to detail, independence, professionalism, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
